Post other river shots that you thought about entering but didn't

Hillsborough River Tampa, same river as the image I entered except this is digital and the other is 120 film.

If I can remember, I think I shot this with a Canon 5-D and a Canon 300mm 2.8.

Here's a snapshot I briefly considered, just because it's a bit unusual. I might have considered it a little longer had the covered bridge on the right been more distinguished.

I love your runner up.

I thought about honoring Tennessee River turtles (probably with the last one)--

or maybe a different heron shot? If my husband hadn't intervened this could have been the entry:

Or the fall pelican migration

Like I said, I have a lot of Tennessee River photos. Haven't scratched the surface, which is why I just told my husband to pick a favorite.

tweedle dee and tweedle dum back to back turtles. I would have been forced to vote for it.
But your stalking heron with the sun delineating his gorgeous neck: that's my choice for the entry.
It's a beautiful photograph, also the ground he is walking over is very pleasing.
Phenomenal, really.

And, like any photographer, happy for the photo op.

I spend most of the time there in the creek, because I am not always up for the adventure of the river. You never know what you will see there. That was a particularly nutty day.

This is on what we call "The Point" in Mattawa - facing the Ottawa River, Quebec in the background

You can see the three crosses on the mountain on the Quebec side I mentioned in my submission for this month's contest

yeah,

I LIKE where I'm living

I chose to retire her over a decade ago - originally visited Mattawa first in 1980

Beautiful country, lots of old logging roads to go exploring, camping, fishing -- yuppers, "away from it all" so to speak.

are taken as we are zooming down the road... I lament all the good ones I miss (and the fact that I have to just keep my camera on auto )

this is one I like but the river is under me (as we cross the bridge)

I missed all the great alligator shots as we drove through the Sabine National Wildlife Refuge along the Creole Nature Trail....

the tugs I posted seem so much darker on the DU site (something seems to be lost in translation...) I altered this one significantly...

...and this is how I feel about art...

And the quote about ART has been sent to my family members and also to a friend of mine who teaches visual art and design at an art school. I think it will be widely seen, and thank you for it.
