I would not go today, too clear, or when it’s too cloud covered, usually partly cloudy is best. I always check the Weather channel for the cloud coverage.

2. Beautiful photo! Rockport, Massachusetts?

We used to visit there when I was a kid! My grandmother's good friend and former neighbor had a big house there - with a guest house! - and we kids thought that was the coolest thing! It was a great place to visit in the summer, just around the corner from a sheltered beach, but we never did much swimming, the water was so cold that it made your bones hurt!

That type photo only has a few weeks to shoot. Usually starting in June around 5:00am. The later the sunrise and later in the year the sun is more off to the right. This time frame it rises more or less between the two jettys. Webcam is at a 2 story yacht club, dock to the left where I take the shots.

Brings back a lot of nice memories - with my grandmother and the rest of my family. I wish I could remember the exact spot, but I was fairly young, I just remember the big house with the guest house, the nearby beach and the people next door had a pair of pet geese!

And these are just excellent photos - as you said, the light is just right! And it's such a picturesque area. Thanks so much for bringing back these memories for me. And your photos are much more interesting than Motif Number 1!

7. I was expecting a shot

of a comfortable walking shoe. But these photos are nice too.
