I have to say I'm really enjoying living downtown.

(19,348 posts)No idea. I'm not a sophisticated fan of jazz, but I'm enjoying their sets.

is loaded with cute 20 something men. This single 67 yo woman adores riding up and down the elevators with them. I don't understand the appeal of moving to a retirement community surrounded by a bunch of grey hairs when being surrounded by young and vibrant men and women is an option! This is much more fun.
Everything is within walking distance. I have season tickets to the ballet and symphony and it's a 5 block walk to see them. Restaurants galore. Post office and library two blocks away. Two small grocery stores a block away in two different directions, although I do drive 10 minutes to the large grocery store once a week to get my senior discount. Roof top pool and gym in my building. Tree lined shady streets for walking the dog in the heat of summer. What's not to like?

Except that they are all mindblowing but none as much as the last one. Its an unforgettable image, It moves, it sings, and it leaves us grateful for its beauty in a time of so much ugliness.

(31,374 posts)as much as possible. It's all so ugly with the exception of the rescue of those Thai boys earlier this week. The evening I sat out listening to the jazz and watching the sunset fed my soul.
