(38,416 posts)It is one of the most beautiful places on this earth. Banff and Jasper are located next to each other..The 4th one down, of Peyto Lake and Mistaya River is quite incredible. That one is taken from a visitors stop on the road between Banff and Jasper. I took a picture similar to that. That photo stop was designed for people to take that picture. Yes, that is what you see when you go to Banff and Jasper National Parks in the Canadian Rockies...An incredible vacation!!

(25,393 posts)Probably, the best image of the 4-day shoot. The observation deck was VERY crowded, so I could not use my Zeiss-Batis 18mm wide-angle. But I am quite happy with the results of the 24-105mm (@24) and my light-weight Sony A7rii mirrorless!
Also, it is a very steep hike up to the lookout point (but not that far). I saw people turning back to the parking lot after contemplating the climb. But the pain was worth it.
Next time I'll probably go later in the season, maybe even with snow. My traveling companions do Banff cold-weather hiking with ice cleats and snow shoes. And they get some incredible photos.

(38,416 posts)I was there in 2012 and 1973. The one you took of Moraine Lake is also great. If I recall it is also called "The Road to Ten Peaks. and...yes it really is "beautiful" ..Thanks for sharing all the pictures..
