We were up that way in 2017 for a ranch tour/meeting (know some of the family that has Jacob Lake Inn) and started out to go up on the mesa to see the condors and had a breakdown with one of the vehicles so never made it but it is beautiful country for sure. There were plans to get to White Pocket too. Maybe next time.

Shortly after I towed a rental RV out of a wash on House Rock Road near the AZ-Utah stateline. The young Aussie lads were very glad I came along in my winch-equipped Tacoma.

and kept breaking. the kids (both military) wove it back together a couple of times but it was a pretty heavy load. of course the truck was the newest vehicle and should have been fine. it belonged to the father in law of one of the young men. oops.

Right place/right time. Good catch.

Next time you go there may be an Exxon/Mobil sign on that rock. That adds a note of sadness to the subject.
