I thought it would be interesting if I cropped it a lot more aggressively than I have before.

I wish you could send some rain to us too.

It is so dry. The Santa Ana winds are kicking up a lot of dust and my allergies are making me nuts.

And the fires. They are really REALLY scary. My heart goes out to everyone affected.

I do too. I see other folks doing it, and I thought, why the hell not???

As to the fires, yes, we are far, far away. About 40 miles to the ones near Malibu. We've had a lot of smoke.

We really REALLY need the rain. None in the forecast, alas.

I've visited Ohio in the summer, and I was astonished to see green fields and rivers full of water! Even when we had normal seasons, our summers were dry grasses and empty (or nearly) riverbeds.

I haven't been able to be out at twilight to get the fire smoke filtered shots. The timing is not good for me.

I am however, very happy with this one!
