Death Valley Pictographs

I had been hunting for this site since 2009 and I finally found it this past September.

There were bighorn sheep bones on the shelter floor, one of which had been scraped for marrow.

More faded pictographs on the back wall.

Here are the faded ones with processing.

About 10 ft tall, maybe 8 feet deep. It is near a water source and high in the mountains, but pretty easily accessible.

I love searching for things like that. I went on a short adventure last summer to look at the Valley of Shields in Montana. There were some images with green pigment which pretty rare in these parts and several locations.

I haven't been to Death Valley yet, that's a cool weather excursion for me, I can't tolerate the heat after having lived in the Anza Borrego for a summer.

I've been to Death Valley several times. It's a great place to hike and explore.
