yet gone to see the rest.
But since for some reason Aspens are something that take my breath away, I want to tell you that I think this is one of the most beautiful images imaginable to me.
A little later I'll look at the others. But for now, thank you for this one!
Edit:
So I went upstairs into my guestroom and took a photo of proof.
This is a photo (overhead light, no big deal) of the very last painting I did. I do one every few years....

The weekend after next I am going on a sightseeing trip with my daughter through New Mexico and Arizona. I had never heard about Shiprock before. I'm flying in my own plane from Texas to Albuquerque, and then on to Page, AZ. On the way I was going to fly over Monument Valley. Shiprock is almost directly in my flight path. I'm going to go by there and check it out.

from the ground also if you have time. Amazing!

(PS Pick up one of the early Tony Hillerman novels set in those parts, for an added treat)

My daughter hasn't, but we don't have time to stop and even if we did it would be a pretty good trick to see it from the ground. Shiprock has a small airport, but no chance of getting a rental car there. This is the airport at Monument Valley. You can't even get fuel there.

We will have a rental car when we get to Page, but our dance card is already pretty full once we get there. We're going to go see the slot canyons, go fishing in the lake, and do some flying over Lake Powell and the Grand Canyon. From there we are going to go to Meteor Crater and the San Francisco volcano field (both are awesome to see from the air).
