The theme for the August Photo Contest is "Portals."
Laura PourMeADrink's suggestion of Portals was well received by the voting public, and a great suggestion it is! Lots of room for interpretation on this one (physical, spiritual, something else) and I can't wait to see the results.

I'll be on the road for about 11 hours tomorrow, so I won't be able to open a thread for submissions until sometime on Friday.
We have some wonderful photographers on DU, and I'm sure we'll have very creative entries.
A note about your entries: I will be adhering to the size restrictions listed in the contest rules; so, when you choose your subject bear in mind how your entry will look at "...no larger than 1024 pixels in its longest dimension and under 675K in file size." https://www.democraticunderground.com/103614595
