Thanks for posting. It is raining where I live, so it is nice for me to see the moon which now is near the beginning of its lunation (cycle of phases). However, Peggy, I do not think the term "gibbous" applies. I think that term applies to the fuller phases. I look forward to seeing more pictures of yours. Take care!

I just looked up the term "gibbous" and this moon is not that. It does apply to the fuller phases. I guess crescent fits the best.

Nonetheless, I'm glad you enjoyed seeing my photo, no matter what I call it.
