Scotland is certainly a beautiful, if stark, place.

Love the dwelling on top of the hill, and the bridge! I wonder how old these structures are.

And the water flowing, and your mom, and the cattle!

I think you're having a great time.

My friend took the photo. She lives in Glasgow and we were traveling together.

So the bridge is the Glenfinnan Viaduct, made famous in Harry Potter (I guess-I’ve never watched or read). It opened in 1901.

As for the castle on the hill...it’s Castle Tioram, from the 1300s. The other castle in the distance is Kilchurn, from the 1400s.
It’s always a fun thing to turn a historian loose 😊

and I'm drooling over the scenery. Since they are only filming up there when the grass is green and the temperatures are a bit warmer, I'm enjoying these autumn shots!

This is one place I'd love to return to, this time with a camera (last time I was there, I was nine years old).

Incidentally, if you like Scottish landscape photography, you should check out Kim Grant's channel on YouTube.

It's the ruins of Lubnaclach. A cottage 4 friends and I stayed at before the fire. It is amazing that it has become so well known since.

It does resemble Roman architecture though.

About 5700 ft elevation in the valley, mid 90s about the usual max. What's really intense here is the sun.

Took a "small bus" tour about 3 years ago. Our guide was a red-haired, bearded, kilted Scot with a degree is Scottish history. He even finagled an unscheduled distillery tour and tasting.
