Well, seeing as how I'm the resident lunatic, I keep track of this sort of thing.

Very nice pictures. I couldn't go out to look at this in my neighborhood, due to all the very loud fireworks that were assaulting the area. Beautiful pics. Nature puts on a much more impressive light show.

Glad you enjoyed them, and I'm sorry you couldn't see it in person.

I agree: Nature puts on the best light show!

I had to get up at 3am Sunday and was asleep long before the eclipse occurred... thanks for sharing it with us, Peggy!!

in the expanse of black sky. Sort of gives a sense of motion to the sequence. Good planing on your part.

I do like to vary how I crop the photos. Otherwise, it's just the same old, same old!

I hadn't actually planned these, except maybe unconsciously. But I thank you for your astute observations.

Just nod, smile and make a note to do it again at some future date! Then at your next gallery opening you can casually say over your glass of Chablis, "Yes, I feel the changing position of the moon in this sequence of compositions gives a sense of motion, don't you?"

But that was because the moon never got into the earth's shadow more than just a little--it got into the penumbra. This is derived from the Latin paen which means almost and the word umbra which means shadow.

So the moon just barely got into the penumbra which is apparently very hard for eyes and cameras to see!

Hope this helps, my dear liberal N proud.
