(31,987 posts)All are fabulous, but I cant help but love the flowers!
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,595 posts)Yeah, the flowers really did it for me too. Bright colors are so damn good. Yeah.
But I also love the textures of the edible things.

(14,889 posts)And so wonderful that you still have a farmer's market going! Looks like some great stuff to buy!
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,595 posts)We've had this market for some time, and it runs year round. In fact, most of the cities nearby have them, normally weekly.
This is very typical for the area. I went to this one since the market I usually frequent is on Thursdays!
Between buying yummy veggies and taking photos, I had a ball today!

(12,463 posts)Those yellow gooseneck squashes making me want fried squash.
Mmmmm.
And the flowers and lettuce are beautiful.
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,595 posts)It's delicious and quite easy!
Thanks for your lovely comments, my dear I_UndergroundPanther!

(12,463 posts)That sounds so good.
Warming for a cold evening like tonight.
I hope I got a can of seasoned squash in my cabinet.
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,595 posts)I always cook the onion first since it's tastier when it's completely cooked. And the squash doesn't take very long.

(22,062 posts)Southern wonderful!
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,595 posts)Maybe you could tell me what they are, and how to make them?
Bayard
(22,062 posts)Although, in googling, I see a lot of people adding other things.
Take your leftover cooked squash and mash it lightly with a fork (you can also use fresh if you nuke it a few minutes, and drain). Mix together with a little milk, and just enough flour to hold it together. Add a little salt, and lots of pepper. Fry on both sides in vege oil till golden brown and crispy. Have to eat them hot, before they get soggy.

(511 posts)that is some mighty fine looking Swiss Chard. It's never that pretty at our local supermarket.
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,595 posts)They were pretty dark in the market, but I might have used a bit of vignetting to achieve this result!

(149,595 posts)I've been told I have a good eye.
I just got a new Olympia E-M10 Mark IV for my birthday, and I'm practicing with it. It's quite different from my Nikon D3200.

(7,346 posts)Having some squash for dinner by gosh!
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,595 posts)We had some too -- stir fried with a chopped onion. Sooo good.
Tom Kitten
(7,346 posts)Two small summer squash like in your photo and two zucchini.
I sauteed them in a bit of olive oil and then added a little marinara sauce. Yum!
I also like the flowers. Love African daisies! I had a salmon colored one but it got covered up by all this mint when I wasn't looking.

(2,850 posts)Maybe it is reflecting the sky or something.
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,595 posts)I do see what you're looking at. I don't think it was out from under the roof covering, but it's possible that it's reflecting the sky.
Good eye!
