(31,011 posts)I got to cover everything from the Phillies in the World Series, Eagles in the NFL all the way down to high school and little league. I enjoyed all that. theres hardly any sport I havent covered at least once and I was privileged to go to the 2004 Olympics in Athens as a photographer on loan to USA Today, they owned our company. I did other assignments as well, but sports was my favorite

(31,011 posts)We went to all digital in 2000 and the company began providing all of our equipment. Of course I supplemented it with some of my own lenses. When I retired I bought a Canon EOS 7D. I have a 400 mm F5,6 that I use for birds, handheld. The technology has improved so much in the past few years. I get pretty good shots of the hummingbirds with the 200 mm since theyre right on my porch about 5 feet away. I still cant figure out how to post pictures here on DU.

(14,559 posts)I don't know what magic the camera works with the digital 2x but I don't see any degradation in the image. I guess it's an example of AI and computational imaging.
Neat how he is air borne with both feet off the ground.
