A trip to Malibu Lagoon State Beach

Last edited Fri Feb 11, 2022, 02:27 AM - Edit history (1)

I went to Malibu today to photograph the resident osprey. Unfortunately, the cranky old bird wasn't cooperating. I did get to see a few other beauties though.

Thanks to all who sent me a heart. I am flattered, and I am thankful that I have made so many friends in my brief time here.

A black phoebe surveys the scene from an old weathered tree stump.

A killdeer searches the shoreline for a tidbit. Thanks to fargone for the bird ID.

Egrets always produce the best reflections.

Your images are so sharp and beautiful! I love all of these, but I agree with you: the egret has the best reflection. It's amazing.

I'm good at photographing the birds, but not so good at identifying them. Killdeer it is.
