One of the better episodes of the second season. That's the one where all the top officers get really old, really quickly due to radiation sickness.

A tin horn desk commander takes command of the Enterprise, and the Romulans start shooting.

TOS is no POS.

I watched first episode of Discovery. None of the characters were likable. They were all assholes. I hated it.

did not seem endearing in the first couple of episodes, but they are showing stronger adherence to Starfleet principles as the series progresses. I haven't watched the episode for tonight yet, but when the security officer killed the doctor last week by snapping his neck it put one of the more redeemable characters in a negative light.

I'm interested as to how they intend to tie the events in this series with the canon from TOS.

The only thing I could see myself using it for is Star Trek. That said, maybe it's worth it just for the one show.

Thanks for sharing.

I watched the first episode on OTA TV and it was a mess. Not only were the plot, script and dialog horrible, the actors they hired for this are badly in need of, well, learning acting or finding another career. (Doug Jones was an exception as he seemed to handle his character the best. But, then, he has an actual background in acting, unlike the other cast members.)

Add to that the completely unnecessary and distracting use of CGI and camera motion.

Anyway, if CBS is betting its future as a streaming service on this sort of thing, they're going to lose.

Don’t care for Discovery, but The Orville satisfies my Trek itch nicely. The humor is awkward and I’m happy they are cutting back on it next season, but I enjoyed the first season a lot.

It has that original "Star Trek" vibe to it and some "Next Generation" esprit de corps - with remarkable special effects!

It was so good, I don't even care about streaming "Star Trek."

I want the fun again!

I love ALL the Star Treks, and this one is no exception. The subscription isn't as much as Netflix or Hulu. It's $5.99/mo., so that's about a buck and a half per episode, and that's fine with me!

I also am familiar with Sonequa Martin-Green, Jason Isaacs, and Doug Jones from their previous work, and appreciate what they bring to their roles in the series. I have found the stories to be compelling, and the sets and special effects to be a cut above basic network fare. The small fee we pay helps provide for this, and also gets us the relaxed standards of cable TV, which is also much appreciated. Great show!

And I love The Orville, too! These are two of my favorite shows!
