I just watched the first episode and don't have a clue what's going on. The characters are interesting, although it's hard to focus much on any of them as it bounces around a lot.
I know this is all intentional, and I'm happy to be patient, but I also don't want to waste time on a show that offers little in the way of a payoff.

(4,651 posts)at times it was hard to follow but you should give it a chance. Also the filming is spectacular. And you might miss this song:
Behind the Aegis
(53,951 posts)Disappointed they cancelled it. It is one of the only shows where there are gay, trans, and lesbian characters who are integral to the plot because of who they are not because they are GLBT!

(1 post)It does take some time to get into it's groove, like most shows during their first season. It takes until around the 3rd episode for everything to start making sense. Season 1 is about them exploring their abilities and getting to know each other, season 2 is about coming together to fight for their survival. Beautiful cinematography, good acting, awesome action scenes and the best LGBT representation anywhere. It's one of my favorite shows of all time.

(11,256 posts)I stuck it out and am on Episode 7. I think the characters are so captivating and make the whole thing worth watching. I also love seeing them all get to know each other from "afar."
My only gripe is that I still have no idea what it's all about. I know it's all intentionally being rolled out slowly, but at some point I do want to know what the overall conflict is, and what the sensates are supposed to be doing - other than just meeting each other.
That said, I'd recommend it just for the focus on the eight leads.
