The Americans finale (spoilers in text)

Pretty good, I thought. Here is what bugged me: When they went to pick up Paige, why did both of them go? Plus these two slapped on disguises at the drop of a hat, yet they didn't even put on blonde wigs for this trip to Paige's apartment--and they knew the FBI was onto them. (an aside: why did they never use fat suits as a disguise?)

I thought Matthew Rhys was especially good--heart-breaking.

1. Just watched it and found it satisfying.

Paige staying behind was so believable.

"We'll get used to it." The parting line...

Great series.

2. I finally watched it tonight... I was left wondering about Paige and what she would do?

Seems like a lot of story left there....

Maybe turn herself in? She hadn't really done anything and given her age might have been treated lightly? Go into hiding? Seek out a new "handler" somehow and continue spying?

So, what do you think?

3. I wondered that, too. I think she returned to being Paige and take her lumps.

I wondered what Stan told Henry... that his parents were spies and they have 'escaped' to whereabouts unknown? That parking garage scene was intense. He was so emotional.

4. Yes.. the acting in that show was phenomenal and making the garage scene-- and Stan deciding

to let them go-- work and believable was hard to do, but I think it did.

5. I found the entire series very credible. OH..bonus...my FAVORITE actor Margo Martindale...

Claudia/Granny. She is splendid in everything she does.

AND...that little bombshell/hint about Stan's wife!!!!

6. Oh, yeah the marvelous Margo Martindale. I've been a big fan since her stint on Justified.

She is very very good.

7. I never saw Justified but I 'found' her on 'The Riches'

which was a WONDERFUL series...cut too short. Set off many young actors' careers.
AND..if you've never seen "Paris, je t'aime" please do. Here's her part of the film. I just love her.

8. Oh, I will check that out... Margo hit middle age and became this phenom!

(Apparently, her acting career earlier in life didn't really take off)

10. At best Paige will merely be questioned.

Stan is the only person that knows she "may" be involved. Notice in the garage she only said she knew about her parents not that she had done anything. Stan can not disclose that conversation due to his own actions. She never talked to Henry on the phone either.
Paige has always been fickle, and impetuous. Note her first response to leaving " To Russia?" Elizabeth had to pack her bag. Paige is all talk and bravado until it becomes hard.
She'll go back to college and live her life and forget playing spy.

9. I thought it was a great wrap up, they were on the run outta the country, time was of the essence

first the good news, Stan didn't shoot or arrest them when he had them cornered, exposed, let them go on the run, they escaped back to Russia

the bad news, they lost their kids, Paige ditched them on the train to Canada and they never told Henry

oh and Stan might have some sleepless nights over Renee... heh heh, I'm not sure
