'Yellowstone' Starring Kevin Costner.......

Yellowstone follows "the Dutton family, led by John Dutton, who controls the largest contiguous ranch in the United States, under constant attack by those it borders — land developers, an Indian reservation, and America’s first National Park. It is an intense study of a violent world far from media scrutiny — where land grabs make developers billions, and politicians are bought and sold by the world’s largest oil and lumber corporations. Where drinking water poisoned by fracking wells and unsolved murders are not news: they are a consequence of living in the new frontier. It is the best and worst of America seen through the eyes of a family that represents both

Premiere's on Paramount Network, June 20th. I can't wait! Love me some Kevin Costner!!

Costner did "Hatfields and McCoys" recently, not too bad.

Pierce Brosnan is in a Western now, "The Son." "Lonesome Dove." "Hell on Wheels" was very entertaining.

Traditional and non-traditional Westerns stay popular!

I admit that I enjoyed many of his earlier films, despite him being in them. I always pictured Jeff Daniels as better suited for Dances with Wolves. (I know some of the Native actors who were in that film, and they didn't have a lot good to say about Costner. Had mainly to do with some broken promises. Go figure.) Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves was saved by Alan Rickman. His flat affect in The Untouchables - yikes. Again, saved by the supporting cast.

But his acting in some of his later movies, when he's not playing a "storybook hero" - Wow. He has finally matured into a really good actor. I'll definitely keep an eye out for this series.

Dances with Wolves and Field of Dreams! I re-watch them both every now and again. Oh heck, I'll watch just about anything with Costner in it!
