How Did 'House of Cards' Kill Frank Underwood? Very Patiently.

'This article contains spoilers about Season 6 of “House of Cards.” What did you think of how the show handled Frank’s death? Share your thoughts in the comments section.

Audiences have known since September that Netflix’s “House of Cards” planned to kill off Frank Underwood in Season 6, when the season’s first teaser trailer provided an early glimpse of his gravestone. But until now, we didn’t know how the writers intended to kill him.

It takes until the very final scene of the season to get clarity. So if you’re here only to learn how Francis J. Underwood died, we’ll resist the urge to be as coy as “House of Cards” is: He died in his sleep and alone, poisoned by his right-hand man, Doug Stamper.

When the actor Kevin Spacey, who played Frank, was accused of sexual assault in October 2017, production had already begun on Season 6. Production halted, restarting in January 2018 for a revised, eight-episode season that Netflix announced would also be its final. Viewers wondered: How would the writers craft a new season without the character who served as the face of the program since its inception?'>>>

All along I thought Claire must have had him killed. Will watch it anyway.

was disappointed.

Claire killed off her writer/lover and Durant. I guess the Shepherds killed Hammerschmidt. I was hoping Claire would bite it after she gave birth. Annette's son will pay for his mother's and uncle's crimes.

The whole thing with Doug Stamper, Francis' will, was awkward since Claire and Francis had a prenup. The last episode felt rushed and awkward.
