What a hoot--Murder, She Wrote!

I never watched this show when it was current. When Angela Lansbury died, I started from Episode 1. So many famous guest stars in every show!

Jessica Fletcher jogs. She rides her bike. She has at least the innuendo of a love interest in every episode; she's written as a savvy, attractive, mature woman.

Before cell phones! No internet! The plots border on the ridiculous, but I'm going to keep watching until the novelty wears off.

Watch for a specific camera shot that seems to last too long on something innocuous. That's usually the clue that tells you the perpetrator. A clock on the mantel, a bulletin board, something on the floor. It adds to the fun of figuring it out.

Also, a little tidbit of info on the exterior shots. They were filmed in Mendocino, California. Not the east coast at all.

Loved that show. I wish it were in syndication.

She shows up in some New England town and someone dies. This best selling author convinces the local yocal Sheriff that it’s someone else. She then moves on to the next town....repeat

I’m kidding. Angela was deeply liberal and Labour in Britain. Check out the story about her kids, moving to Ireland, and Charles Manson.

Who lives in a village that has a minimum of a murder a week? Especially when the sheriff is Howard Cunningham.

I used to watch this show ages ago while I was sewing quilts,,,,, but now,,,, I think I can start it again and enjoy one of the few benefits of getting old is that the plots of many shows just disappear allowing my Husband & I to rewatch them and not remember things!!

by asking, "You didn't notice that the position of the body makes it obvious that the murderer is left-handed?" She would always say, "I'm SURE that you noticed, OF COURSE, that the position of the body CLEARLY indicates that the murderer HAS to be left-handed..."

Last month, I "ran a Jessica Fletcher" on my new landlord: "I figured you didn't tell us you'd be disconnecting the Wifi because you were installing surveillance cameras. So I just went to the library and got a mobile hotspot -- and since it was free, it won't have to come out of next month's rent!" Our wifi re-appeared within 48 hours: thanks, Angela!
