Survivor Cagayan - Episode 3 Discussion Thread - No Spoilers please on future episodes

Finally the worst player was actually voted off. thank you survivor gods!! But this episode was AWESOME! We got to see a tribe try their hardest to oust their best physical player, and one who seems to like everyone, because Tony the Hermit Crab made up a lie that Sarah is falling for 100% due to her faith in COPS-R-US. The brawn tribe is rocking, but such stupidity will be their downfall. I am glad they won.

the episode started with Morgan calling out Jeremiah on his promises in public. It did what she wanted, cause people to question him, but she is praying to win this week and get to a tribal switch or she is toast.

So when tree-mail arrives, its the blindfold obstacle course challenge for reward. BRains is shown again practicing. these nerds can not do anything right. But at the challenge, the nerds looked good. Beauty rocked, but other than getting the items lifted up, brains were doing well. They had second locked up and the brawn sucked at this one. It was down to brains and beauty but the hotties got their flag back first and won easily, getting chickens and a rooster (and wondering how chickens lay eggs.)

Seemingly having second locked up since they were a whole item ahead of the jocks, all the nerds had to do was get back with th flag, and hoist it up the platform. But no, they can not do this. Who messed up, guess ... J’Tia. She is an idiot.

Now over on brawn, Sarah wants to throw the IC to oust Cliff. WHAT!!! HAs this ever worked out for the best in the history of Survivor. NEVER! Her way to approach people was that Cliff is rich and does not need th money. What, how does that work. Fine, you want him out, okay we will do it if we lose. BUT NEVER THROW a challenge.

So the Immunity Challenge was a water diving and basketball challenge. You had ot dive and retrieve round orange buoys and then shoot them into a hoop. Seems mae for Cliff. Brawn and Beauty were walking through the retrieval until Sarah got in the water and slowed things up. But the nerds were done. J’Tia wasted five minuted bumbling around and had ot return empty handed. The hotties walked away with this one, but it was clear that everyone but Cliff and Wu were throwing it, and Wu may have been slowing down a bit but not as much as the others.

Spencer was the only nerd doing anything. I swear I think he got all the buoys. It came down to Spencer v. former NBA star Cliff in a shooting baskets contest. Seems fair right. The geeky white boy v the huge nba jock. Of course Cliff won. Yet again, it was J’Tia who could’t even get the buoys up to Spencer.

So another nerd is going home. Spencer was frustrated. He told Tasha and Kass that J’Tia needed to go. They seemed to agree, but then Tasha wanted to keep J;Tia. WHAT!!! for what reason. BEcause you trust her? Tribal was boring. No fireworks. J’Tia or Spencer. Loyalty v. good play. AND THE WINNER WAS ... SPENCER! J'Tia finally goes home as one of the worst to ever play this wonderful game.

Next week, drop your buffs ... tribal shakeups are coming.

1. Poor Spencer!

I was starting to worry that he would have a heart attack from the frustration of dealing with his loser tribe mates! I don't blame him, they couldn't seem to do the simplest things--lay the flag down on the platform!! It will be interesting to see how loyal he really is to the women. It would be ironic if Spencer ends up on the opposite tribe from them and his loyalty goes out the window. I think Tesha will get thrown under the bus pretty quickly as she is outspoken, while Kass is more low key and might be able to fly under the radar for a while.

I'm totally disappointed in Sarah. I thought she was pretty smart but she seems to be really naive. When she had the Hermit Crab swear on his badge I knew it meant nothing to him and so he said immediately after. I can't wait to see if she gets blindsided by him, how she takes his lying about the cop loyalty thing. If everyone figures out what a rat he is, he might be one to take to the end.

Also wondering if Cliff was getting suspicious about how bad his team mates suddenly became in the water challenge. Maybe they will show next time, what happened when brawn got back to the camp, whether or not anything is mentioned about how bad they were.

This is a good season so far imo. Good challenges, an interesting mix of players, no returnees or RI, etc.

is a good player. I think he will do well once he is with another tribe. I think its funny to think of all the things J'Tia can;t do:
Swim, lay down a flag, catch a ball, throw aq ball, do a puzzle, run, walk, carry anything, not burn all the rice, build a shelter, start a fire. I mean she has no good survivor qualities at all.

I see him as having no loyalty whatsoever to the other two women o his tribe.

I'm also disappointed in Sarah. I liked her in week 1, but she is just dumb. How does she not see through Hermit Crab's BS.

I couldn't believe she couldn't position the flag on the platform. You feel for the edges of the platform to get the sense of the size, then you position the flag so it's away from the edges. I mean, how hard a spatial problem is that for an engineer? It was bad enough to watch smart people not grok that hoisting up a platform on one side only would make it tilt & make what was on it slide off, but I was beside myself watching that.

It's been interesting watching the beauty tribe function so well by contrast. I guess maybe, being more aware of their bodies, they do more with their bodies? Maybe that helps them be more athletic or coordinated than the peeps who (supposedly) work with their brains?

I've also been wondering about Tony's "swearing on my badge means nothing to me" & how that will be received by his fellow cops when he gets back home. For now I'm hoping it blows up in his face. He doesn't seem all that shrewd, actually. I'm also hoping Sarah finally gets a clue.

And why was the Brains tribe the last to figure out that even though you are blindfolded you can count as you raise the platform so that you are doing so uniformly? I really think that the producers intentionally picked people for Brains that had the degrees to look like they were wicked smart but had significant shortcomings mentally that would make it look like being smart wasn't all that great of an asset. Because J'tia was a waste of space.

Sarah and Tony strike me as too stupid to even function. They are toast with the new tribe configuration.

Its insane how dumb she is. Maybe she is a genius in the classroom, but no applicable skills to use that brain. I think the other cops will be fine with Tony winning if it means swearing on his badge with a lie.
