Alone watchers?
this is the most real reality program ever.
I swear, I don't know how long it will last but some of these bear things seem really close calls. I can't believe they are only 5 days in and so many have left, but with cougars, bears and rain, I can see it happening. I wonder if that one guy will finish his cabin

1. I've watched some, but not all the episodes.
I have a hard time with these kind of "reality" shows. I think they want us to think it's a lot more dangerous than it actually is.
They are not going to put someone in a situation where a cougar or bear will attack/kill them. Same with "Naked and Alone." Nobody is going to get attacked by an alligator or a boa. I've been all over Vancouver Island, but not the part where they are. It's gorgeous country but the rain can be a real downer. ![]() |

2. from what I understand
everyone on Alone has bear repellent. But that has to be used correctly and be timed correctly. If nothing else it will interrupt a maul if not completely stop it.
They are alone and who knows what will happen here. I don't think this is a series but more of a oner. It does seem like the guys were carefully selected to not make foolish decisions and I appreciate the lack of narration. The guys do their own videoing, no contact until they call to be retrieved. They probably have to check in with the crews x many times a day though, can't just let them disappear. Now on Naked and afraid - there is a camera crew during the day, but they are alone at night videoing themselves and if they have a fire and are cautious, they can avoid an attack. They have not gone back to the Serengeti since the first year when the animals got very interested in the people. Some people have drunk unclean water and became ill for months on this show with some pretty scary diseases. I hard that one cameraman on N&A was bitten by a poisonous snake and they were scared they would not get him help on time, but he did survive. I think being naked and without shoes makes you way more cautious. A lot of the shows are pretty boring with them just waiting their days out while starving. |

5. I can't believe Lucas built a canoe!
Who filmed him rowing to that island?
The previews show him in trouble because of strong currents. He's a smart guy and should be able to figure out the tides. Is Alan the guy that sang? |

6. yeah, Alan sang and munches on sea weed a lot.
I think that Lucas must have set up his own camera. If they saw another person, it would prably be comforting to the men and they would not break emotionally like they have been.

8. latest episode broke my heart and still uplifted me.
So sad about Mitch, but I think he and Lucas just reached their limit.
Interesting to see Sam and Alan talk themselves into staying from looking like they were about to tap out. I am sure Sam is going crazy wondering about the baby. FYI I read an article a week ago, but can't find it now, in the article is said that the Alone crew met with the guys once a week to swap camera batteries and memory and to assess their physical and mental abilities. |

9. Better late than never!
I'm so glad Al won...he seems like a nice guy. Very cool that he wanted to give $$$ to his Dad so he could quit working!
