Related: About this forumAnyone watching Mozart in the Jungle (Amazon)?
I looove this show! I watched an episode just on a lark to see what it was, and was instantly hooked. And then, I found out it was nominated for two Golden Globes, and it won both of them (deservedly) last week.
This is comedy, but it's such a different thing from network sitcoms. This is more of a dramedy. The humor is witty, intelligent, sophisticated, and warm. The writing is excellent, and the acting is great. Gael Garcia Bernal (he plays the lead character, Rodrigo) has perfect comedic timing and is such a charmer (he won a Golden Globe for this role). It also stars Bernadette Peters and Malcolm McDowell.
If you have Amazon Prime, and have not checked this out, do yourself a favor and give it a try. It's a gem!

(34,058 posts)as being in an orchestra I had heard so much about it. Sadly we have such slow Internet out where we live that I knew I would never get to see it until......the lobbyist that lives with us during session discovered quite by accident that the Edge browser is so clean and fast he was able to stream. So I tried and I could.
I binged the first season, watched the first episode of season 2 then stopped to start a binge on Transparent. I bookmarked so many things I have to be careful or I will not ever get anything done!
YAY! I love the cast and the show. What a treat.

(4,514 posts)And I know what you mean... there's so much good stuff out there on streaming now, it would be very easy to just binge and do nothing else! (Transparent is good, too.)
