http://www.democraticunderground.com/128050397Please be aware that the AZ State Govt. seems to be trying out a dirty trick this year. It is important to let independent voters who plan to vote for Bernie in the presidential primary know that they must register as a Democrat by February 22, 2016, if they wish to vote in the AZ Presidential primary (officially known as the Presidential Preference Election)) on March 22, 2016.
Please take note of the party registration and Presidential Primary dates on this flyer:

Agreed; but, it is not some nefarious, exclusion scheme, as the OP seemed to apply.

Arizona has had a closed primary for a long time. If you are an Independent and you wish to vote for Bernie, you definitely need to register as a D.

Arizona has had closed primaries for the 20+ years that I have lived here. But it has never been an issue for me because I've ALWAYS been registered as a Democrat.

When we first moved to Tucson from Illinois in 1979, my sweet young wife registered as an Independent. She changed that in a hurry after the first primary election.

Are you still in Tucson? I live in the NW.
