Gov. Ducey has signed the puppy mill protection bill

Gov. Ducey signed the puppy mill bill (SB1248) today. It will allow pet stores to operate across Arizona (including in Phoenix and Tempe where they were previously banned), selling factory-farmed puppies from breeding mothers who spend their lives in wire cages 6" longer than their bodies and 6" higher than their bodies, stacked below three other mothers in cages that only have to be washed every two weeks.

Governor Pataki here in NY signed "Buster's Law" on the "Pet Connection" segment of the Albany news (I was paying attention, since that's where I found my cocker spaniel, Barney. ). And even my disgraced RW former congressman supported animal protection legislation. The governor is on the wrong side of this issue and the voters need to let him know.
