*CAMEL ATTACK*

A Portal Rescue EMT is recovering today after he was attacked by a camel he was caring for. According to Bill Wilbur, the president of the Portal Rescue Board, the EMT was caring for a camel when all of a sudden, "it turned on him and hit him in the head and body. It also bit him on the arm."

Carol Capas with the Cochise County Sheriff's Office says the 911 call came in at 7:15 last night with the victim waiting at the San Simon Truck Stop for a medivac helicopter. He was airlifted to Banner-UMC where he was treated and released last night.

The camel bite on his arm is being treated to try and prevent an infection. No word on what will happen to the camel or where it is now. The EMT is back home recuperating.

I don't mean to laugh at anyone's injuries (and they are large dangerous animals) but...

Camels have been known to wait and bide their time to get revenge on people. Camels have killed their owners many times. If they get abused they don't forgive and forget. I'm not saying the guy abused the camel, but maybe the camel thinks he did for some reason. This is just what traditional Arab camel herders have taught. They say never abuse a camel because the camel will bide his time and get revenge.
