but California has 30 million people. Arizona has 7 million.

Gotta love me some stupidity.

( I have loved Arizona since I spent my summers there starting in 1974, but I could always have done without the people )

I assume you mean those are California-LIKE numbers. Because I assure you I got them from the State of Arizona.

This is out of control.

PHOENIX — There were 2,392 new cases of coronavirus reported in Arizona since Monday, according to Tuesday numbers.

This has been the largest jump in cases in a single day in Arizona, according to ABC15 data analysts.

On Monday, Arizona Department of Health Services reported a total of 36,705 confirmed cases within the state. That number jumped to 39,097 cases by Tuesday.

Even if Governor Ducey reinstated the lockdown today (which he won't) it's too late to stem the tidal wave for at least three or four weeks. This is disastrous. And we had it under control until late May.

People paid attention to the social distancing masks and safer at home. Trump visits and we go wide open. He was on MSNBC a couple days ago and predicted this scenario.

At least that's what I'm hearing people say.

Probably the same one that think they don't need to wear a mask, just to annoy the Libs.

People were less careful about distance even before the lockdown ended. There were some neighborhoods I avoided while walking around during the day. Especially avoided the university and neighborhood to the east.

As soon as lockdown ended I started seeing people on 4th and packed parking lots around Tucson. Ive completely avoided actual downtown so can’t say what that’s like.

Judging from what I saw, people were going out and not careful about distance a couple of weeks before shutdown. The end of lockdown was as much a psychological issue in my opinion. It gave false optimism and security to people who were tired of staying home.

We’re still isolating. I walk around but take routes where hardly anyone walks. Seeing a lot of town that I’ve never walked before.
