The Democrats control the city council and the last mayor was a Democrat, though after he left under a sex scandal cloud the current mayor is a relatively moderate Republican.

The County is still red, though that's slowly changing. The first Dem in memory got elected recently to the Supervisors. Three of the five Congressional representatives for San Diego County are Democrats.

And on the state level, every single statewide office from Governor on down are Democrats, along with both U.S. Senators, and both houses of the CA legislature are controlled by approximately 2/3 Democratic margins. The last Speaker of the state Assembly was a lesbian liberal Democratic Assemblywoman from San Diego--it's a lot more progressive here than most people outside the area realize.

A lot of the military have been voting for Bernie overseas, interestingly. Plus many veterans are war-weary and may support someone who is not eager to send our young men and women into combat.

It hadn't been posted that long.

I just looked at his FB page in Events...shows 5,700+ have RSVP'd...usually can double or triple that number because it doesn't include other ways to RSVP.

It's gonna be another big one.

Go Bernie!
