"California marijuana legalization initiative has the signatures" to get on the ballot. (xpost GD)

Too bad it is not really a legalize mariiuana bill and still has tons of restrictions designed to keep the police state functioning smoothly

"The Adult Use of Marijuana Act would legitimize possession of 1 ounce of marijuana and cultivation of six marijuana plants for adults 21 and over. It would impose a 15 percent excise tax on all retail sales, though localities could still ban marijuana sales in their jurisdictions.

It also would impose an infraction and maximum fine of $100 for possession of more than an ounce of marijuana"

It's too bad that we have to do this by stages. But it looks like we do, heaven knows why.

However, I WILL vote for this.

No, I'm not turning into a pothead! I do think it's time for this to be legal, past due time really.
