Can one see the San Fernando valley from Griffith Park?

I was reading a glowing review of the movie La La Land and it has this sentence:

"When they come together a third time, though, it’s on a luminous night in Griffith Park overlooking the lights of the San Fernando Valley.."

I know one can see all of LA, but all the way to the valley?

Just curious..

It's just not the "classic view" from Griffith Park, which is looking toward downtown. But turn the other way, and you see the whole Valley spread out in front of you.

Are both views of the valley? I've never been there at night so my orientation is off.

But I don't know where you'd stand to view the Valley lights. The usual view, from the Observatory, is on the other side of the park. There you can see the LA basin and even Downtown.

are actually in the San Fernando Valley. The Bette Davis Picnic Park is on the other side of the hill in Glendale (her house was just down the street). And the LA Equestrian Center is just adjacent in Burbank. The Travel Town museum, though technically in Los Angeles city proper, is also on the valley side of the hill.

Or even from Forest Lawn, also on the Valley side. So where can one get a sweeping view of the Valley from Griffith Park equivalent to the Observatory view of the L.A. basin?

getting rave reviews.
But when I do it they say I'm blocking traffic and creating a public disturbance.
