Woman 'mad at the White House' arrested after City Hall rampage
A woman armed with a river rock who said she was "mad at the White House" was arrested after she went on a rampage in the Redding Citiy Hall, according to Redding police.
Police received a report about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday of a disturbance at City Hall. A woman, identified as 49-year-old Forcep Birkle of Redding, allegedly entered the building with the intention of breaking windows in the mayors office, according to a Police Department news release.
As she moved through the south foyer, she threw paperwork and other items to the ground, then began using the river rock to destroy framed pictures of past Redding mayors. When confronted by the coffee kiosk operator, she exposed her breasts and buttocks, the news release said.
Birkle eventually left the building without making it to the upper floors of City Hill. Police said she took an American flag that had been posted in the southern foyer to honor city employees and their families who had served in the armed forces.
