Video footage of plane crash on the 405 Freeway near John Wayne Airport

A small, twin-engine plane crash-landed on the I-405 freeway at MacArthur Boulevard Friday morning, June 30. Here are some of the videos from different angles.

The rescue efforts of a group of drivers were captured on video moments after a plane crashed on the I-405 freeway near John Wayne Airport on Friday, June 30.

In a Facebook video, a man parks his car near the freeway’s center divider and runs across southbound lanes to help while filming.

As rescuers tend to the male pilot, the man urges him to breathe, relax and keep calm. He asks the pilot if he can move his fingers and toes, as other rescuers tend to the female passenger.

“They just came in sideways,” the man tells the group. “I seen them literally come around the corner.”
