Gavin Newsom might not be able to accomplish his ambitious campaign goal of bringing government-funded universal health care to California, but his first hires suggest hes planning something big.

(51,585 posts)I got a survey in my email from him and health care wasn't even on his list of issues to focus on! I couldn't believe it. There was an "other" option and I wrote in "affordable health care for the state since that IS what you ran on". I guess I wasn't the only one to write that and remind him about his campaign promises.

(767 posts)He will have plenty of money in the budget, a legislature which will rubber stamp his proposals, and a state population which is watching. California has been blessed since the last Republican idiot governor. The experiment to try republicans is always an explosive failure for California. I think California will do better then other states even if there is another DEPRESSION...I voted for Jerry in the 70's and currently. The USA screwed up when they did not elect him as president, but we did get JIMMY!!!
