Ex-Chargers QB Ryan Leaf pleads guilty to misdemeanor domestic violence count

Ryan Leaf, 44, was placed on probation for a term of three years and ordered to complete a one-year domestic violence class in connection with his guilty plea to a misdemeanor false imprisonment charge

Former San Diego Chargers quarterback Ryan Leaf on Friday admitted a misdemeanor domestic violence charge stemming from his arrest in Palm Desert over Memorial Day weekend.

Leaf, 44, was placed on probation for a term of three years and ordered to complete a one-year domestic violence class in connection with his guilty plea to a misdemeanor false imprisonment charge, according to John Hall, a spokesman for the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office.

A misdemeanor count of domestic battery was dropped in exchange for his guilty plea, according to Hall, who said the defendant was given time credits that canceled out a four-day jail term.

Leaf, who was arrested May 22 at a residence on Grapevine Street, was charged Wednesday and entered his plea Friday morning before a judge at the Larson Justice Center in Indio.

I am a Michigan fan, but I wish him better than this. Ironic looking back to the last true Rose Bowl in 1998 and the paths the QBs have taken. Brian Griese has led an exemplary life and just landed a job on MNF, and Lead continues to screw up.
