Virus surge leads to curfew in San Francisco

A surge in coronavirus cases will put San Francisco under a curfew beginning on Monday and trigger other restrictions related to the virus, the city announced.

The curfew requires non-essential businesses to close and prohibits members of different households from gathering between 10 pm and 5 am until December 21, Mayor London Breed said Saturday.

San Mateo county outside San Francisco will also be subject to the same rules after the state of California classified both under its most restrictive tier of locations based on the spread of the virus.

In addition to the curfew, certain indoor businesses will be required to either close or reduce capacity beginning on Sunday at noon, Breed said.

like I do throughout the day, every day and this afternoon I made a list of states that have better numbers of "cases per 1 Million Population" than CA has (currently 30,000). 5 states had better numbers and two had about the same amount. That means that the rest of the country is doing worse than CA. Why aren't other areas doing lock down orders again?

Many countries in Europe may extend lockdowns into Jan. 2021 or even longer even though their recent highs have been lower due to the new lockdowns. They aren't opening up too early this time around. It looks like the US is doing herd immunity in the GOP areas. That always works so well...

A freaky country is Turkey. It has seen its new cases shoot through the roof in the past 4 days for some reason.
