1. I thought the rule was when you come to a railroad line, you stop, look both ways and if nothing is

A lot of years ago I came *this close* to getting hit by a train. It was late at night and I was on my way home from work. It was at a crossing without warning lights or a gate. As I was going over the track I saw the light from the train. It scared me so much that I always am super careful now.

I was pretty young at the time. Close calls are sometimes good life lessons.

4. The van got stuck on the track and couldn't move. Not sure if it is because there were cars in

2. So...the driver of the minivan, while waiting in a line of traffic, drove onto the tracks to wait?

The cars should not be sitting on the tracks but they always do. The line of cars waiting to go down the lane stretches for 5 or 6 miles easy.

They should have police stationed at the tracks to ensure cars are not waiting on the tracks.
