Storms to drench much of the Bay Area this weekend

A burst of rain is expected to drench the Bay Area this weekend, bringing much-needed moisture to a parched region.

The rains will likely be intense ó but short-lived, tapering off to another stretch of warm, dry conditions by the middle of next week, meteorologists said.

Showers were expected to start in the North Bay as early as Saturday evening, with steady rainfall pounding much of the Bay Area Sunday. Lingering showers were expected in the central coast through Sunday night, according to the National Weather Service.

The North Bay hills and Santa Cruz Mountains were expected to receive up to an inch of rain, with the Peninsula receiving up to half an inch and the East and South Bay valleys receiving no more than a quarter inch, meteorologists said.

3. ...they are calling for snow levels @ 5000' in the Sierras...

I like the rain, but at least spring snows melt fast

It's already getting windier and chilly today as well. There's a 20% chance of scattered t-storms now...a few gray cloud banks here & there...
Not surprising, but damn I had to turn the heater back up!

9. Frustrating because all the forecasts were for rain!

Oh well, itís not as if any rain we got would have made one iota of difference re the drought 😒
But it still would have been nice.

10. Oracle Park got enough 'drizzle' to send the Giants grounds crews out to dress up the infield....

starting between the second and third innings. They stayed in front of it and the Giants were able to soldier on to a victory. One game out of first, Baby!

Out in the Sacramento Valley, we got just enough rain to mess up the windshields.
