Proposition 1 will invest $7.5 billion in our water supply. From funding water storage and modernizing our current system to protecting our rivers and lakes, it's a lean, smart, and efficient plan to manage our precious water supply. And it's supported by Democrats, Republicans, unions, farmers, and environmentalists.
Proposition 2, the Rainy Day Budget Stabilization Fund Act, has a long, fancy name, and a lot of confusing legalese -- but it will do something really very simple. When we have a budget surplus, we'll save some of it for when we have a lean year. It'll help us smooth out the "boom-bust" budgeting that has damaged our state's finances over the years.
California has made incredible strides in the last four years, and these propositions will help lock in that progress -- and keep us on the right budgetary path into the future.

(30,058 posts)Such as barring home owner associations from requiring sodding of grass with St Augustine which requires lots of water and allowing grasses which does not require as much water. We have gone to using surface water, not drawing so much from wells. Conservation is good.

(4,299 posts)It seems like we go out of out way to spend extra money.
Locally, we are having a mayoral recall election October 7th because one more month wasn't worth saving millions.

(4,299 posts)There are sites specifically for Orange County Judicial recommendations that obscure facts. Any judge appointed by a Democratic governor automatically gets a bad score. I search on each judge and hope important sift toward the top (like this one ).
If you have tips for finding judge's terms, please share. It is surprisingly hard to find.

(10,849 posts)I respect Wesley Chesbro who is leading the No. We don't need more dams. We need domestic and commercial rainwater catchment and greywater irrigation. Those billions would buy a lot of that.
