Looks like it's official:
As of April 1, 2018, the over-the-air broadcast frequencies for WNVC and WNVT will no longer be available in the Washington, D.C. metro area. MHz Networks utilized these two frequencies to broadcast its international programming known as MHz Worldview.

As of April 1, 2018, the over-the-air broadcast frequencies for WNVC and WNVT will no longer be available in the Washington, D.C. metro area. MHz Networks utilized these two frequencies to broadcast its international programming known as MHz Worldview.
MHz Networks is finishing arrangements to keep its programming on various cable outlets in the DC area. We will announce cable carriage plans when the final details are completed.
Viewers seeking more information about this transition may contact MHz Networks during business hours at 703-770-7128 or email us here.
In the meantime please contact your D.C. area cable provider and let them know you want to see your favorite MHz channels remain.

(9,978 posts)1. Same thing happened with Binnie Media in NH
NH1 NEWS was no big loss, but Bill Binnie sold 3 OTA channels for MILLION$$$$ - and the broadcasting rights/licenses for those frequencies. They are apparently worth more as data links, etc, than their worth as broadcast outlets.

I think you brought up the point about Binnie at the time.
AVS Forums: Local HDTV Info and Reception is doing a good job of keeping up with the repacking.
Thanks for writing.

But the loss of any news outlet should warrant at least a raised eyebrow in a democracy.
