Are food writers giving the @TrumpDC hotel and its @BLTPrime steakhouse the cold shoulder? Managers say yes. Writers say, well...yes and no.

Valid comment to @TrumpDC hotel accusation that food writers don't cover it: "Why would anybody at any Trump...property be concerned about what the "fake media" writes or doesn't write? If they think the media is fake, why do they want to be included? Sounds almost hypocritical.

Trump hotel managers say food writers are giving the place the cold shoulder
by Tim Carman March 15 at 11:30 AM
Mickael Damelincourt is managing director of Trump International Hotel in Washington. Earlier this week, he borrowed a page from his sometime boss over at the White House: Damelincourt tweeted a complaint about a list that broke down the 11 D.C. Restaurants That Crush Dessert.
Spoiler alert: The Eater DC list doesnt include the hotels steakhouse, BLT Prime by David Burke, or the Benjamin Bar and Lounge, which hosts a weekly dessert night, featuring a spread from executive pastry chef Fabrice Benezit in the grand lobby.
The omission didnt sit right with Damelincourt, who fired off a Trumplike response on Twitter (minus the presidents trademark Sad!):
....
This got us thinking: Do the food media ignore the Trump International Hotel and its BLT Prime steakhouse in their coverage?

I can see why. The creamed spinach looks ok, but how hard is it to make it look like it should.

(51,582 posts)3. Actually I read reviews for BLT Prime in DC
and it got good reviews a year ago. I made reservations for 4 to take up table space for Inauguration Weekend so that he wouldn't benefit financially and personally from his new position (Emoluments Clause). I canceled at the last min. My own little form of civil disobedience/protest. The funny thing is that there were a ton of avail reservations almost right up to the Inauguration...his HUGE, "biggest ever" crowds were evident in that restaurant.

I can't respect people who pay $9 for Bud Light. Their cheapest cocktail is $24 but they get up $100
