He's back! Florida man torches house following dispute, dog dies in flames
A Florida man was arrested on Sunday morning after police said he got into a dispute with the people he was staying with and burned down their house, killing a dog in the process.
Thomas Loncala, 52, was arguing over his belongings at an Ormond Beach-home he was staying at with other people on Sunday around 7 a.m. and was told to leave, the
Daytona Beach News-Journal reports. Loncala left the home, but not before lighting it on fire using some papers.
"By the time I got on my porch, the entire house was (engulfed) up in flames, to the trees and everything," Braon Smith, a neighbor, told the
News-Journal. Another neighbor, Nancy Rojas, told the News-Journal that she was awakened by a woman who lived at the house screaming very loudly and beating on her window.
According to Ormond Beach police spokesman Keith Walker, Loncala performed the act to take revenge over his missing property, the
Daytona Beach News-Journal added. Loncala was arrested on two counts of attempted murder and charges of arson and animal cruelty.
