1. The boosters endorsed Jimbo Fisher

Actually I should be nice to Bobby. He really helped Marshall out after the plane crash - he was at WVU.

Bobby escaped tons of violations when he was at FSU merely by playing the good old boy "daggumit I had no idea" bit and the NCAA never busted the program because they were great on TV and would play any night of the week.

2. This has been going on forever

The head football coaches at major Florida schools endorse the Republican. I remember the Miami Herald in 2000 running an article saying that Bowden, Steve Spurrier (Florida) and Butch Davis (Miami) might have some differences, but they all agree on George Bush over Al Gore. There have been similar versions before and after 2000.

Same with sports figures in Ohio. Jack Nicklaus always trots out there at stump speeches and belittles the Democrat. In 2012 at a Romney event he didn't even have enough class to call Obama by name. He dismissed Obama as, "that other guy."

Arnold Palmer had more class but he also stood up there and campaigned for the Republican in Pennsylvania.
