Gravis Poll: Nelson easily beats Scott for Senate, Morgan edges Putnam for gov
A new robo poll by Gravis Marketing finds Democratic U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson comfortably leading Republican Rick Scott in a hypothetical senate race, 51 percent to 38 percent. The incumbent expects a challenge from Gov. Scott in 2018, but Gravis also showed him leading Republican Attorney General Pam Bondi 50 percent to 35 percent.
We can only hope http://www.tampabay.com/blogs/the-buzz-florida-politics/gravis-poll-bill-nelson-easily-beats-rick-scott-for-senate-john-morgan/2304623

1. 2018 Is Two Years Into Donnie's Presidency
I know things are going to be grim for Democrats in two years' time, but I suspect Republican prospects are going to be grimmer than they are now. The inertia of economic recovery will have worn off by then. If the Rethugs succeed in killing the ACA and Medicare, I suspect that a lot of the Magoos that turned out for Donnie will be willing to turn out for Rick Scott. It might be like fighting Putin's party in Russia, but I think Democratic chances will be better.

2. Please ---- Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum for Governor
********************************************************************
He flirted with a run for Congress and made Hillary Clinton’s list of potential running mates. Now, a group of college kids is hoping Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum will run for governor in 2018. A petition attempting to draft Gillum to run appeared Nov. 27 on change.org. Politico, which first reported the story, said students at eight universities were behind the effort. The online petition notes Gillum’s progressive stance on issues from gun control and the environment to gay rights and immigration. It had 176 signatures by early Tuesday afternoon. ******************************************************************** http://www.tallahassee.com/story/news/2016/11/29/online-petition-wants-gillum-governor/94606604/ https://www.change.org/p/andrew-gillum-draft-mayor-andrew-gillum-for-governor |

6. I'd go for Andrew Gillum - or Gwen Graham
Though Gwen is a lot like her father, Bob Graham, not as liberal as I'd like she is, like her father, a solid Democrat with a good head on her shoulders.
Andrew Gillum is a real go getter and I think he has a great future ahead of him. Governor would be a great step towards a larger role. He's been a very good mayor for Tallahassee and has a great presence. After twenty years of Republican governors Florida needs a Democratic one for some balance! |
