Florida man, 83, hits car salesman in the head with golf club after winning gift card

A Florida man who reportedly wasn't happy with his winnings from a scratch-off ticket is accused of attacking a car salesman with a golf club.

Linsey Dean Owens, 83, is charged with two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, according to the Herald-Tribune in Sarasota.

Car salesman Christian Robertson told the Herald-Tribune that Owens gave his scratch-off ticket to a sales associate at a tent and expected to win a decent prize. Instead, Owens was awarded a $5 Walmart gift card. Robertson said he was helping other customers when Owens drove his car down an aisle and bumped Robertson with the side mirror of his car.

Robertson told news station WFLA that Owens got out of his car and got a golf club out of his trunk. Owens then allegedly hit Robertson on the right side of his face with the golf club. WFLA reports the hit knocked Robertson's cell phone out of his hands, which he was using to record the incident.
