Ron DeSantis dismissed congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's credentials in a Saturday campaign speech.
If the Democratic Party is having a hard time wrapping its head around first-time candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's major upset last month, the GOP is having an even worse timeespecially when the specter of democratic socialism is raised.
At a Saturday campaign event, Florida Representative Ron DeSantis, who's currently running for governor, took a jab at Ocasio-Cortez to score easy points with the conservative crowd, knocking her political views and prowess.

(31,758 posts)Many Democrats are already sick of her arrogance. If she does not tone it down when she gets to Congress, she will have only the shittiest of committee assignments. If she continues her divisive behavior, she is the one who will be primaried and kicked out of office.
One term and done.

(9,540 posts)I posted because I thought the article was more about DeSantis than Ocasio-Cortez
If either Putnam or DeSantis becomes gov I will seriously consider moving to a blue state, sadly.

(6,831 posts)Come on then. Washington has some of the most beautiful National Parks in the nation. In Cascadia, the mountains kiss the sky. The Pacific tickles your toes (and you can go clamming, lobstering, crabbing) and you can see pods of Orcas migrating. In the Olympia National Forest, we have the northern-most rain forest in the world.
Whatcha waiting for ?

(9,540 posts)I do have very fond memories of WA from 1970. On my way to Korea via Ft Lewis I spent a couple of days in Seattle. A 19 year old on his longest trip ever. I stayed in hotel downtown and being in uniform and no way for anyone to tell where I was going, VN possibly, EVERYONE was so nice I was a little paranoid, like too nice. I didn't understand then, but I do now. At Ft. Lewis the weather was overcast for several days, on my last day the weather broke and I saw Mt Rainier, just about the most beautiful and impressive sight ever!

(6,831 posts)Ft. Lewis and McChord AFB have joined together and are now known as the Joint Base Lewis-McChord. Now home to 7th Infantry (2nd Brigade), 2nd Infantry (3rd Brigade), 593rd Expedition Sustainment Command, 42nd Military Police Brigade, 62nd Medical Brigade and the 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne), so they're a busy place.
Did you twilight in FL ? I was stationed at NAS Pensacola for a spell. Beautiful beaches. Ran out of gas on the bridge to the beach (which I understand is punishable by ticket now) at 2:00am. Pushed the car up the hill and let it coast down the other side. Spent the night on the beach and bagged a ride back to Base just in time for muster. Learned the Law of the Seven Ps that night: Proper prior planning prevents piss-poor performance !
Well, eventually, we'll get you out here. Our temps rarely run as high as those in FL.
