Wife of Georgia Senate candidate Jon Ossoff tests positive for Covid-19

The wife of the Democratic nominee for the US Senate in Georgia has tested positive for Covid-19. Jon Ossoff’s campaign says Ossof has been tested himself after experiencing symptoms of the virus.

“Last night, Jon’s wife, Dr Alisha Kramer, an OB/GYN physician at a local hospital, received a positive Covid-19 diagnosis. Dr Kramer started isolation immediately after experiencing symptoms earlier this week. Jon is also experiencing symptoms and was tested for the virus this morning. His results are pending,” said Miryam Lipper, Ossoff’s campaign communications director.

“Dr Kramer, like so many health care workers, puts herself at risk to care for Georgia’s pregnant women, delivering mothers, and newborn babies. She is a hero.

“Jon has not held or participated in an in-person campaign event in over a month and will remain in isolation until medical professionals clear both him and Dr Kramer.

I hope they both recover.

Wonder what that would mean for the Senate election. If Jon is unable to run, could the Dems put someone else into the race? We need to win that seat. (Not to diminish his illness.)

2. State Senator Nikema Williams was chosen to replace John Lewis on the ballot.

I don’t know how the State Democratic Party chooses a replacement candidate if one has to drop out due to illness.

I hope his wife recovers quickly and that he’ll be OK.

3. It's great that the Dems were able to choose a replacement candidate for John Lewis

But if Ossoff is ill and unable to run, I would think that there would be deadlines to get on the ballot etc.

4. I'm cheering for John Ossoff! I've sent him a few $$ I could spare & I think he would be much

netter that that rich arrogant woman he's running against. I've already applied for my absentee ballot & he's got my vote. The 2 neighbors of mine who are strong Trumpers just botch & argue all the time but they don't vote! I hope they continue that too.
