Protesters demonstrate outside Paul Broun's Athens office
Snip
Signs stating “Don’t Cruzify America” and “End the Shut Down” greeted travelers on the Atlanta Highway by the Georgia Square Mall — the location of Rep. Paul Broun’s office — Friday afternoon as about 25 protesters waved their displeasure at the ongoing partial shutdown of the federal government... http://onlineathens.com/local-news/2013-10-12/protestors-demonstrate-outside-paul-brouns-athens-office I so want this dipshit to lose his U.S. Senate bid. I doubt we'll be able to win his House seat here with it's heavily gerrymandered district( thanks GA state Repubs), but just having him lose the Senate bid would be a change for the better.

1. I'm THRILLED to finally hear some positive info in Ga!
We moved here in 2000, and I've felt like I'm drowning in the Red Sea ever since! We are the only Dems in our sub-division for sure!

4. I'd have to live in a high rise condo in the middle of the city
if I took leave of my senses and moved there.
The cities down south aren't that bad. Once you get outside them, they've barely budged since the 1920s. South Carolina is still stuck in the 1860s. |

5. Pleased to read about this.
Nice to see people making their voices heard. That said, I don't think Broun's well-gerrymandered district is in play absent a ten point swing in the attitudes of the electorate.
Thanks for the post. -Laelth |

6. agreed
The state GOP split Athens into 2 adjoining congressional districts to dilute the democratic vote here. Best we can hope for is someone less batshit crazy than Broun. It's sad he is so crazy, his dad -Paul Broun Sr. was a well respected Democratic State Senator for many years.
