I'm from California

I travel a lot.
It never ceases to amaze me that there are no helmet requirements for riding motorcycles in some states.
I'm not picking on Idaho per se, it just happens to be where I am now.
Also, I noticed less kids wearing helmets here also.

The irony as I see it is that these "freedom lovers" who fight against these helmet laws would be the first ones in line to receive state sponsored longtime medical care in case, god forbid, they got a serious brain injury.

helmets (in MO) yesterday. Sure they may be the most safest drivers on the road, but these bikes can be hard to see by some and before you know it, there's an accident! We have had a pretty serious bike accident in the family (someone hit (didn't see the bike in time)) and then, even ran over them accidently. Needless to say, some pretty horrific injuries.

Sometimes I wonder if these helmetless riders are already suffering from a brain injury?

...visit. An astonishing number of parents reply, "Oh, he only rides in front of the house. He doesn't need a helmet."

If I could say what I'd like to say, it would be some smart-ass response like, "Oh, do you have rubber sidewalks?" I can't do that, of course, but it sure is tempting.

If those who do not wear a helmet have an accident and don't make it, then they knew what they were doing. Good luck to all who choose to travel on two wheels versus four wheels. I gave my motorcycle to my son when I did not have a car to give him when he was 18......and my helmet.
