The Des Moines Register reports that MidAmerican says there is no approved design for the nuclear plant it wanted to build and there are too many questions about limits on carbon emissions from a natural gas plant.

Dianne Glenney of S.A.F.E. wrote last night, no one should have to live under the strain of a potential nuclear power plant in their neighborhood, community, state and/or country. Someone is always downwind of every nuclear plant. Now enough Iowans know this. Lets hope we dont forget.
like someone finding religion just before she dies. Do you suspect she will now help her neighbors in Palo and try to shut down Duane Arnold?

(19,537 posts)I don't talk to him a lot but when I went back to visit him and other friends there a couple of years ago, he was "busy" with some events there at the time. Not sure how often that sort of thing happens, but it makes me wonder what happens there and other plants around the country that we don't hear about.
